Live Music: Noelle Tretick Gosling

When Noelle Tretick Gosling was a student at the North Carolina School of the Arts, she was both a violin and ballet major. These dual interests brought her scholarships to both the Aspen Music Festival and Ballet West before she finally decided to pursue her music performance degrees at the Jacobs School of Music in Bloomington, Indiana.

Noelle has been known for many years as a member of the Indianapolis Chamber Orchestra and longtime extra player with the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra. She also works with the Louisville Orchestra and is Concertmaster of the Muncie Symphony Orchestra.

In addition to classical, she enjoys playing all genres of music and is in demand as a recording artist for music publishing companies as well as Broadway shows. Tours with legendary performers including Stevie Wonder, Johnny Mathis, Natalie Cole, Tony Bennett, Harry Connick Jr, Sandi Patty, Andy Williams, Mel Torme, Perry Como and Manhattan Transfer have taken her from coast to coast.

Noelle has served on the music faculties of Anderson University and Park Tudor School in Indianapolis. She now maintains a private teaching studio and coaches students of the New World Youth Orchestra in Indianapolis, as well as summer string camps and festivals.

Born into a musical family, Noelle is one of five children, all of whom are professional musicians. Their father, the late Sidney Tretick, was a virtuoso violinist and head of the string department at Ball State University from 1952-1962. Her mother, Patricia Tretick, was also a professor of violin at Ball State University until her retirement in 1993.

Live Music: Tim Wright from The Wright Brother's Band

For the past 4 decades, Timothy Wright has been “honing his craft” of playing live and recorded music in the Indiana band, The Wright Brothers.  When the band decided to “get off the road,” Timothy began his solo music career, performing at local restaurants around the Indianapolis area and in Nashville, TN.

Singing and playing acoustic guitar, his greatest influence has been James Taylor.  “I enjoy J.T.’s songwriting and finger picking guitar style” more than any other songwriter, Wright says.

When coming to hear Timothy, you’ll hear plenty of James Taylor songs, as well as Eric Clapton, John Mayer, Jimmy Buffet, Michael Bublé and classic pop jazz standards like “Fly Me to The Moon” and “I’ve Got You Under My Skin.” Songs from the great musicals like “Till There Was You” and “Oh, What a Beautiful Morning” are sprinkled in throughout the evening.  Timothy also throws in a few soft rock standards as well – performed acoustically.

“I feel that my goal in performing music in a restaurant is to keep myself as a pleasant background to the diners. There’s nothing worse than going out to dine, and having the live music overpower your conversation.”

Timothy’s song selection is sure to please all ages.  “The mood that music creates is so very important. I always try to select the right song for the moment – for the age group before me.”
